What We Do
Energy Efficiency
Air source heat pump installation, underfloor heating, insulation, airtightness and solar — planned and installed as part of a refurbishment or new build across the New Forest, south Hampshire and Dorset.
Making a home genuinely energy efficient is about more than fitting a heat pump. It starts with the building: insulation, airtightness and ventilation done properly so the heating system can be sized correctly and run cheaply. We plan the whole package together rather than bolting on individual measures.
We install air source heat pumps, underfloor heating, loft, wall and floor insulation, improved glazing and solar, usually as part of a wider refurbishment or new build. The order matters — insulating and sealing the building first means the heat pump can be smaller, which costs less to buy and to run, and the house is more comfortable to live in.
Heat pumps and retrofit insulation need to be specified carefully, especially in period and listed homes where solid walls have to breathe. We use breathable, vapour-open insulation where the building needs it, and we size and design the system to suit the property rather than the other way round.

Frequently asked about energy efficiency
Yes, but it has to be specified carefully. Solid-walled period homes need breathable insulation and a heat emitter system designed for lower flow temperatures. We assess the building first and size the heat pump and emitters to suit it.
Yes. Air source heat pumps work efficiently well below freezing and are well suited to the mild South Coast climate. The key is correct sizing and a well-insulated, airtight building.
We can advise on available funding such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and help with the paperwork. Grants change over time, so we will confirm what is current when we price your project.
It can if the wrong type is used. Solid-walled buildings need to breathe, so we use vapour-open, breathable insulation and avoid trapping moisture in the fabric. Done properly, insulation improves comfort without harming the building.
Yes. We install solar photovoltaic panels, usually as part of a wider refurbishment or new build, and can size a system to pair with a heat pump and battery storage.
A well-installed air source heat pump typically lasts 15 to 20 years and solar panels 25 years or more. We hand over warranties and manuals and stay available for servicing and aftercare.
