Commercial / Landscaping
William Gilpin School
Pilley, New Forest
William Gilpin is a lovely Victorian school set in a New Forest village. The school asked us to reconfigure the landscaping at the front of the building, to make the approach safer and more welcoming for pupils and parents.
The first priority was a safer pathway through to the front of the school, so children no longer had to walk down the traffic side of the road. We also created a vegetable patch and a mud garden for the children to use, and finished the works with lovely Victorian rope edging around the principal elevation — a quiet, traditional detail that tidies the flower beds and sets the building off nicely.
It is the kind of small, considered commercial project we take on alongside our residential work — carried out with the same care and attention to detail, from start to finish.
